BLACK LARSEN are looking for actors for 'What Shall we Tell Caroline?' a short comedy by John Mortimer. The play will be on at The White Bear, Kennington on Sunday 9th and Monday 10th May.
'What Shall We Tell Caroline?' It's Caroline's eighteenth birthday and her parents (and her mother's lover) deliberate over what advice they should give her before sending her out into the world. But what do they really know of life? And what effect will their long term love triangle have on her outlook and morals? But Caroline has been secretly growing up without them and is reaching her own conclusions...
Cast:
ARTHUR LOUDON male, mid 40s+. Headmaster of 'Highland Close School'. He likes for things to be 'just so' and finds it difficult to express himself.
LILY LOUDON female, mid 40s+. Arthur's wife. A passionate woman who is tired of being treated as a good old 'chap' and longs for excitement.
TONY PETERS male, mid 40s+. Lily's lover and the eternal joker. Plays guitar / ukulele and sings – (nothing major, just the odd ditty!).
CAROLINE LOUDON female, 18. Caroline is a charming and exuberant girl, but one day she suddenly stopped speaking – a fact her parents don't like to mention. Silent for most of the play although she is integral to the action.
Rehearsals will be Mondays, Wednesdays (evenings) and Saturdays (daytime) in Camberwell, from Saturday 17th April. Auditions will be held on Thursday 8th April (evening) and Saturday 10th April (day).
