Junior Designer

La Boca is a small independent design agency, specialising in work for the film, music and fashion industries. We are currently seeking an exceptional junior designer to join our adventure in west London.

This key position involves working on a wide range of projects, and requires an enthusiastic designer willing to undertake both a supporting role, and to confidently manage own projects when needed. We require excellent Mac knowledge (Adobe CS/Quark), a strong understanding of typography and image-making, and good illustration skills (by hand and/or digital).

It is essential to be passionate about art and design, and to have a broad knowledge of both contemporary design and design history. Above all else, we are looking for a creative, culturally aware designer, who actively participates with the world around them.

Minimum 1 year industry experience desirable (although outstanding graduates with good placement history would be considered). Available to start ASAP. Sorry, no agencies or postal applications please.

Assistant Producer - Comedy Club, 99 Club

The 99 Club is an independent comedy club which runs critically acclaimed shows across the West End and North London. We are currently looking for an Assistant Producer to join the team.

We are looking for someone with experience of running live events or shows, with an understanding of marketing and sales, experience of dealing with members of the public and with good administration skills, computer skills and phone manner. You must be very well organised, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise your own work load.

Daytime hours will be spent assisting with administration, marketing, reservations and other ad hoc tasks needed in the organisation, promotion and development of the clubs. Some evenings every week (including at least one weekend night) will be spent at our venues managing the shows.

You will be needed to work a minimum of 30 hours a week and you must be able to commit to very flexible working hours (owing to the unusual & flexible timings of work within the live performance industry) which include daytimes, evenings and weekends.

There are opportunities for advancement within this position.

The pay is £8 per hour and you will need to have the facilities to work from home (i.e computer, mobile phone, internet connection) as well as live within easy access of Central London. You must be available to start work immediately.

Flyers/Poster Designs

BLACK LARSEN are looking for someone to design our publicity flyers and posters for our up-coming production of 'What Shall We Tell Caroline?', a short comedy by Joh Mortimer. The play will be on at The White Bear, Kennington on Sunday 9th and Monday 10th May.

'What Shall We Tell Caroline?' It's Caroline's eighteenth birthday and her parents (and her mother's lover) deliberate over what advice they should give her before sending her out into the world. But what do they really know of life? And what effect will their long term love triangle have on her outlook and morals? But Caroline has been secretly growing up without them and is reaching her own conclusions...

Actors Required

Cast:

ARTHUR LOUDON male, mid 40s+. Headmaster of 'Highland Close School'. He likes for things to be 'just so' and finds it difficult to express himself.

LILY LOUDON female, mid 40s+. Arthur's wife. A passionate woman who is tired of being treated as a good old 'chap' and longs for excitement.

TONY PETERS male, mid 40s+. Lily's lover and the eternal joker. Plays guitar / ukulele and sings – (nothing major, just the odd ditty!).

CAROLINE LOUDON female, 18. Caroline is a charming and exuberant girl, but one day she suddenly stopped speaking – a fact her parents don't like to mention. Silent for most of the play although she is integral to the action.

Rehearsals will be Mondays, Wednesdays (evenings) and Saturdays (daytime) in Camberwell, from Saturday 17th April. Auditions will be held on Thursday 8th April (evening) and Saturday 10th April (day).
